Spatial modeling of marine ecosystems
GOM will have an opening for a PhD student at the UBC Fisheries Centre to work on spatial ecosystem modeling with an emphasis on linking biogeochemical and upper trophic level models. The activity is part of an initiative on “Predicting Life in the Future Ocean”, and focused on the global ocean (or the ocean basin level). A quantitative background with programming capabilities (.NET, R, Python and/or other) will be a distinct advantage. Expected start is in 2015, with the start date being negotiable. To obtain further information, please send CV and brief introduction to Prof. Villy Christensen, (v.christensen at fisheries.ubc.ca).
